Every Saturday in July—5th, 12th, 19th & 26th, 2025 — Noon to 4 PM
Doors open at 10 am to anyone interested for browsing and or purchases. Course starts at 12 pm. Registration will be available at that time, based on availability, but best to pre register to assure a spot.
Chappell Square will be kicking off a series of workshops on How-to-Use the Chappell Universal Square through the month of July, 2025. The workshops will take place each Saturday at our new facility at the historic Mills at Salmon Falls in Rollinsford, NH.
Each session will run from 12 noon to 4 pm in the afternoon.
Students will have the opportunity to put the square to work through the process of designing and cutting a sample stick frame hip and valley roof system. The process will unfold in a methodical step-by-step process, where students will learn to master the system and to understand the magic of the square.
Chappell will cover all aspects of using the square and will be presented in a way that will allow anyone attending to unlock the mystery of compound roof framing. Attendees will be surprised at how easy it is to use and apply the tremendous amount of information contained in the rafter tables.
The Chappell Square is a powerful computer that requires no batteries or electricity. Nothing more than the square, a pencil and a scrap piece of wood to scribble on is required. This workshop will allow everyone in attendance the knowledge and confidence to create their own masterpiece.
These workshop sessions are a great opportunity to learn how to unlock the magic of the square directly from the creator himself, in a focused educational setting.

Location
The workshops will take place at Chappell Universal Square's new facility at the Mills of Salmon Falls, in Rollinsford, NH.
The Historic, Water Powered Mill at Salmon Falls, was built in 1820. Today the wheels and pulleys that drove the textile machinery have been replaced with a water powered generator. This supplies all of the electricity for the more than 100 craftspeople who have set up shop in the two brick mill buildings at Salmon Falls. There's also enough electricity to spare to power the greater part of Rollinsford to boot. Talk about carbon footprint—there isn't one.
